The grey area
When someone says the grey area, thing that pops into my head is something that isn't really thought about by everyone and something that is just there and its something that no one pays attention to like a corridor, a corridor is just the in between of two or more rooms which are the main rooms where everyone spends most of their time and they are. ore decorated and taken care of. For example the downstairs corridor leads to the living room and the kitchen and they are both a lot more payed attention to and have a lot more of expensive accessories and have a lot more decoration, they also kind of the main rooms where everyone goes, like when friends or family come round that's where they normally go and the corridor is just the place to get the other place where you want to go. Another example of this could be physiologically you may feel like the odd one out or out of place in a friendship group and you may just feel lie they don’t t care for you `and you are just the in between who is the least cared for. Another example could be an uncared for garden that is just full of rubbish, uncut grass and stinks like dog piss, this wouldn't be something very appealing when going through a house and it would be something that people would avoid, therefore maybe the grey area is somewhere you don’t want to be and could be something where no one wants to be either mentally or physically.
Jack Latham uses photography to relate it to past incidents in the news and photographs things that happened and relate to the incident, for example if there was a car crash he would make sure to capture a photo of a car. In today's lesson sir gave us one of his examples of a murder that happened ended and we were given six photos in random order and we had put them in order and make a story of what happened and during this I realized there are so many stories you can make up just with six photos and this task really made me think about all the different scenarios and it really opened up a side of imagination that I didn't think six photos could do, this also proves that you can't rely on photo a photo because you don't know the background and the rest of the story and there could be a whole new side to it. For this incident I put the photos in this order because I think the body was found and they explored the building behind it and in the basement was the room with the lamp and the pen lead to that mans DNA, however for all I know it could be the man who has been murdered.

The horrific story of a disabled 16-year-old boy with a troubled past who was groomed and raped by a crooked prison guard in exchange for extra cigarettes
The reason why I chose to do this is because when I think of the grey area I think of something that isn't spoken about and something that is dark and hidden from the public and because my brother is in a wheelchair my family normally tell me about all these true stories that happen to disabled people and I never see anything about it on the news or social media and because of this a lot of people aren't aware of things like this that happen often unless they have someone close to them who is disabled. My brother was ill before this so these photos were quite rushed, however because he was ill it made him look quite suited for prison with dirty clothes, greasy hair and very pale. I used a lamp we had to shine it on my brother to make the photo more dramatic and intense to make him the main focus and I feel like it is more eye catching and people will look into him more which is the whole purpose of the article as I wanted to show the boys pain and fear. Overall I feel like I done well displaying the emotions in the photographs and I am happy with the way they turned out, however If I had better accessories I could've made them better but I can't help that.
Documentary Uncertainty
A documentary of photos is a series of photos that are documented by someone, a documentary is normally about one specific thing so generally the photos will all be related to each other in one way or another, this could be through either the same person, same background or even the same effect. A documentary of photos normally tell some type of story which could be from a news article, a film or even something that happened to you personally. A good example of a documentary of photos that a lot of people have would a documentary of weeding photos, this is when all the photos from someones wedding day are all put into one little snippet and it tells the lovely story of your wedding day, people also use a documentaries of photos to keep for good memories and maybe to tell their future family. Photo can be see as very reliable things because they are actual visual proof of what happened, for example if there is a story and no one had any actual proof of what happened, if someone sees a photo of. what happened it is realistically the closest thing you can get to the actual proof of the story. Another reason why people believe photos is because of social media and the way it is made out to make everyone believe everything they see, however you shouldn't always believe a photograph, this is because of things such as photoshop which can take put anything in a photo and take anything out of a photo and the thing is nowadays technology is so advanced that is nearly impossible to tell if a photo has been edited or not. Another reason why you shouldn’t always believe a photo is because you never know what the actual background of a photo is, for example a story can be made out to make it like the complete opposite of the truth happened.
Parliament of owls
When I look at this photo I see a bit of a disturbing image, this is due to the the lady in the photo wearing a mask and sir told us that it is a face of a past president and that there boosted my idea of that the photo is to do with some type of cult and this could be like some ritual mask. Another thing that makes me think that it is because the photo is placed in a forest and a forest is quite a secretive and disclosed place where rituals would be placed, another thing that suggests that is the the statue in the background which is some type of Egyptian statue and Egypt is a lot to do with like kings and princes. The genre is a type of portrait because the woman in the middle, however it is a very unique type of portrait

because woman is wearing a mask and is only in a small part of the photo and normally a portrait is just a visible person in a plain background. This picture makes me feel questionable because there are questions I want to ask but I don't really know what questions i want to ask which makes me feel quite uncomfortable and weird. The questions I can think of to ask would be: who are you?, why are you doing this? and why that mask?, I don't think that would fully complete my understanding of the photo but it would give me more of basis and an estimate of what is happening. The five adjectives I would use to describe the photo would be: questionable, mysterious, unknown, discrete and dark.

Poulomi Basu
Poulimi Basi is an. Indian photographer and activist, she is also an artist who likes to tell the stories of the power of women within her photographs. Basi's first book called Centralia was published in 2020, the book then when on to win 2020 Recontres d'Arles Discovery Award Jury Prize and has also been listed for the 2021 Deutsche Borse Foundation Photography Prize. Personally when I think and look at her photos are so amazing and one reason I believe she pushes herself to do this is because it is all to spread an important message across the world which is to show the power of woman and I think this shows most people don't have the most motivation when it comes to photography, for example the people who do it for GCSE just see it as something you can do in school and for homework but they have no motivation or need to go outside and take photos for their own personal reason, however when you are fighting to spread a message that means something to you, you are gonna wake up everyday and want to go out and work towards.

Aaron Schuman is an American photographer who is set in the Unite Kingdom, he is also an author and wrote the book Slant, this book was named one of the best photobooks in 2019. His work has presented in many international sites such as the Tate Modern, Hauser & Wirth and the institute of Contemporary. Personally I really like Schuman's work because he just photographs everything as it is, by this I mean he doesn't try and rearrange everything to make it all perfect, he just photographs everything natural. I also like the way he makes all of his photos black and white because personally I feel like it adds more of a purpose to it because it stands out and I don't what the purpose is but the way he does it make sense. I think the book Slant is a excellent idea from Schuman because it is a different way to present photos and he also adds writing to it which makes it stand out from a lot of other photobooks and it adds more of a meaning to it.

Image and Text
1-clash 2-London calling 4-fire in the booth 5-elevate 5-sky 6-stereo typical 8-pick up the phone 14-ridin solo 13-phone numbers 16-t n biscuits- the rest of the photos have their own text within the photos.
I decided to do song names because when I go around taking photos I often find that music helps me concentrate and it puts me in more of a happy and creative mood because you realise how unique and different music can be and then you can take that versatility into your photos by taking loads of different things and put it into one photoshoot and it can sometimes make a photoshoot a lot more interesting because you can focus on loads of different things instead of looking at similar photos with the same topic. For some of these photos I ended taking them without thinking what song I would link it to and then after I was looking at the photos while listening to music and it opened my mind up and a lot of the songs just naturally came to me. For the other photos which didn't link to songs I chose to go around the school looking for text that I could photograph and I came across posters and thought it would of been a cool idea to place them on people instead of just taking the photo of just the poster itself.
