Beyond Here Is Nothing from Laura El-Tantawy on Vimeo. |
This project is about Laura reconnecting with her childhood and culture. It started by Laura's grandmother passing away and this made her realize that she completely left her culture behind, so she went back to Egypt and started taking photos of where she grew up, I think this must have been a very hear touching project for Laura because it had a meaning to it and I think when there is an important meaning to photos you try your hardest and you feel like you have a reason to take photos. Personally I like her work because it clearly has a lot of meaning to it and think she done very well by motivating herself to do this.
This photo book is made up of photographs which I took and edited on photoshop in school, I chose these photos because they all relate and it gives the photo book a theme and a pattern. The size of the photos are a bit too big in my opinion and I would prefer the photo book as more of a hand book so when I redo it would be smaller and next time I would I would change up the images and put photographs of different scenery in.
