THE Indecisive Moment
Henri Cartier-Bresson
I like the idea of the decisive moment because that is what photography is about, you have to decide everything when taking photo, the lighting, the composition and the objectives in the photograph, even when you move your camera to take a photo that is the decisive moment because that's you deciding where the best place tp take the photograph. Henri talks about how important the composition of his photographs are and It is very easy to tell this because the composition of every photo looks perfect and on point, you can also tell how important and careful Henri is with the decisive moment because these photos do not look rushed at all.
I really like this photograph because there are so many things that stood out to me, for example the composition is perfect Henri got the perfect position of the people as they are both just aside the centre of the photo and they are both looking through the hole in the wall, the photo is also very symmetrical as both people in the photo are doing the same thing within the same line. At first I thought the person at the front of the photo was a painting because of how the the square in the wall is set, I don't know if Henri done that on purpose but that's what I first thought when I looked at the photo, and It made me feel very confused. Emotionally it made me feel quite strict and on point because the people are clearly security guards and they look very serious about their duty. I think Henri waited for the perfect moment and then took the photo because he wouldn't boss around the security guards.
